You can easily carry an email discussion to a Conversation or Topic in Workspace by using the Conversation email address. Follow the steps below for a quick how-to guideline and to read up on some FAQ's:
Click on the three-dot icon () menu on the Conversation header and then select Get the email address of the space.
Copy the email address into the the pop-up dialogue.
Send or forward the email you would like to share in the Conversation through the copied email address.
The following is a list of common email behaviors:
Forwarding a customer support email to a Topic or Conversation.
Sending an email notification on the Version Control System to become notified each time a new version of the software is released.
Carrying discussions to Workspace that require immediate information exchange.
Need to enable email search? You first need to connect your email account in order to launch this feature. To set this up, simply:
Click on your avatar in the top left corner of your Workspace to open the sidebar menu.
Click on Preferences to open your Profile & Account Settings.
Under Integrations, click on the option Connect Email Account.
Click the button and then select the email platform you would like to connect with.
You will then be redirected to your email platform in order to finish the connection process.
Once your email account is linked to Workspace, search results can be displayed from your emails using Unified Search. Searching for emails is roughly the same process as searching for files and images. Follow the same guidelines as noted in the dedicated Unified Search help page.
However, if you first received the link by clicking Get Email Address of the Space, every message posted using this email address will have you as the sender. So, if you shared the email address with a colleague and the receiver used it to post a message, the message will display you as the author.
All notifications and replies to the message will be sent to you. If your colleague isn't on your Workspace team, they'll be unable to login and look at messages or replies.
Q: Is it possible to reply to or communicate with external users using email forwarding? Is there a two-way email integration?
A: Our email integration is one-way only. You can post a message to a Conversation or Topic through email. At this time, there is no current way to communicate back using email forwarding.
