The Calls and Contacts tab can be accessed from the sidebar in your Workspace. Your contacts are organized by contact cards, where you can call others or edit their contact information.

The Contact Directory within the Calls and Contacts sidebar tab has three tabs that house all of your contact cards: All, Teammates, and Private. The tab All contains both your personal and teammate contacts, with your Favorites listed first. In the Teammates tab, you will find everyone who is part of your Workspace. In the Private tab, you can find your personal contacts, which are only visible to you.

Contact Cards

Each contact is shown with their name, profile picture, and status. Deactivated accounts will also contain contact cards with a Contact Profile.

From a contact card, you can Call or Message directly by clicking on these options. Clicking on the contact card also launches a side panel with more information in the Contact Profile, such as email address, social media accounts, and call history.

On a contact card, you will find a star in the bottom corner (). Selecting this star Favorites a contact, which means their messages will show up in the Favorite Conversations section of your Conversations tab. You may click on the star again to remove the contact from your Favorites.

Finding a Contact

On your browser, you can look within the three tabs of All, Teammates, and Private to find your contacts. You may also search for a specific contact by clicking on the magnifying glass () at the top corner of your Calls and Contacts page.

On a mobile device, you can locate specific contacts by scrolling through the list on your main Conversations page, or by going to the Contacts tab within your Calls and Contacts space. To do so:

  1. Click on the phone icon to the right of the Conversation icon. Two tabs will display, including Recent Calls and Contacts.

  2. Select the Contacts tab to scroll through an alphabetical list of contacts. You may also search for a name within the search bar at the top of the page.

Creating and Editing a Private Contact

Creating and editing a private contact can only be performed from a desktop browser.

Creating

In order to create a private contact from your browser, select the plus icon () in the right corner of the Calls and Contacts page. You can also go to the Private tab of your Contact Directory and click on Add a Contact.

There, you can add a profile photo, name, phone number, email address, home address, and social media accounts. When you have submitted the contact details, click on Save the Contact in the top right corner to save new information.

Editing

You can edit a private contact by navigating to the contact card in your Private tab. After opening, click the three-dot menu icon () and select Edit Contact in order to modify details. Select Save Changes in the top right corner to save the new data.

Filtering Workspace Contacts

To filter contacts from a browser, the Filter All Groups search bar can be used to type in keywords to locate contacts easily:

  1. Select the Calls and Contacts tab on the left side of your Workspace. The Contact Directory will appear with the three aforementioned categories: All, Teammates, and Private. By default, you will remain on the All section.

  2. Above this to the right, the search bar will display with the text Filter Your Contacts. Begin typing in a name to narrow down your contact search. The same action can be done on the Teammates and Private tabs.

On a mobile device, filter options are shown within a sub-menu of the Contacts tab:

  1. Select the phone icon to the right of the Conversations icon to bring up the Calls and Contacts tab, as shown above.

  2. Select the Contacts tab next to Recent Calls. By default, your contact list will show Workspace Contacts. To switch to filter by phone contacts, select the corresponding option Phone Contacts below it.

  3. You may then search for a particular name utilizing the top search bar.

Contact Permissions

On a mobile device, you will typically need to enable permissions for the Workspace app to access and call your contacts. Follow these steps to do so:

  1. Navigate to your profile avatar in the bottom right corner of the app.

  2. The following page will then be shown:

3. Select the Contacts section under Preferences.

4. A notification will be shown indicating that you can both sync and call your contacts through Workspace. Depending on the type of mobile device you have (iPhone, Android, etc.), open the settings of your device and select the button that will enable these permissions:
