It's important to note that you may have a few different numbers throughout the Workspace platform:
Virtual Number: This is a number that can be called from an outside phone and is not linked to a hardware device.
Device Number: This is a number linked to a SIM Card and hardware device.
Softphone Number: This is a number that is reachable via web on your Workspace web browser or through the mobile application.
To manage call settings, follow these guidelines to setup your preferences:
Click on your avatar in the top left corner of your Workspace to open the sidebar menu.
Click Preferences to open your Profile & Account Settings.
Click on Call Settings on the left menu to view options for Incoming Call Settings and Outgoing Call Settings.
Selecting Incoming Call Settings will direct you to a list of your devices and linked numbers. Click on the arrowat the right of each number, which will open a drop-down menu. This will then display incoming call settings for that specific number.
Incoming Call Settings for a Virtual Number
For a virtual number, there are a few options for incoming call settings.
When receiving a call to this number, your options include:
Ring Softphone: When your virtual number is being called from an outside phone, enabling this function will also ring your web browser and mobile app Softphones simultaneously.
Ring Other Numbers: This option allows you to ring other numbers when the virtual number is called.
Name Your Number: Give your virtual number a name to easily find it (such as when switching calls to other devices).
Options for setting up a device number are the same as those for a virtual number (see above). There is also an option to unpair the number, which will deactivate it.
For your Softphone number, there is only one option to configure settings, which is to Ring Other Numbers. This allows you to dial other numbers when the Softphone number is called.
Outgoing call settings affect what call recipients view when you place a call to them. Through selecting Outgoing Call Settings in Preferences, you are then directed to an option to manage Caller ID.
In the drop-down menu next to Caller ID, you can view a list of your numbers. You must select which numbers you would like displayed to call recipients via any of the contact methods in Workspace. You may also select None if there are no numbers associated with your Workspace account.
